Training Runs set to prepare entrants for the 2022 THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN 3-Day Stage Race!

“Let Nature Give You A Run For Your Money”

Trail runners that have entered the 2022 THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN that will take place at the Houw Hoek Hotel (Western Cape) from 19 – 21 March are invited to enjoy a fun-filled Training Run on Sunday 06 February at Constantia Nek in preparation for South Africa’s premium 3-Day Stage Race.

“The THIRSTI AFRICANX Training Run is a fun way for event entrants to experience routes that are similar to that of the event, while getting to know trail runners that will be lining up with them on the start line in March,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the event. “The December Training Run was so well supported that we decided to host three more Training Runs in the build up to event day. Training Run #2 will be at Constantia Nek this coming Sunday (06 February), Training Run #3 will be in Gauteng in February (details to be released soon) and Training Run #4 will be in Grabouw in early March.  The Training Runs are free of charge to all 2022 THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN entrants.”

“Training Run #2 will consist of a +-17.5km route,” confirms Meyer. “It will start with a 7km road section just to warm up the legs, before treating runners to magnificent single track. There will be some easy climbs to the tar road on Vlakkenberg through Bokkemans Saddle up Vlakkenberg Peak and back to Constantia Nek. Not only are the Training Runs the perfect opportunity to get a sneak peek at what to expect from the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN, they’re also a great opportunity to run with our AFRICANX ambassadors while getting to know some of our hard core AFRICANX supporters.”

“AFRICANX regulars are always keen to share their experiences and advice with first time entrants,” adds Meyer. “By the time that event day arrives you are guaranteed to be ready to #RunTheAFRICANX. We look forward to welcoming trail runners of all fitness levels and technical skill to the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN Training Run #2 on Sunday. Be prepared to ‘Let Nature Give You A Run For Your Money’.”
