Well known radio personality and Totalsports Women’s Race ambassador, Phindi Gule is counting down the days to the start of South Africa’s most exciting women’s race series.

Celebrating both the beauty and strength of womanhood, the Totalsports Women’s Race will see thousands of runners and walkers unite to “Run Their City” in Durban (Sunday, 19 July 2015), Johannesburg (Sunday, 09 August 2015) and Stellenbosch (Monday, 10 August 2015).

According to Gule the Totalsports Women’s Race is extremely close to her heart.  “I started running in 2011 with the Totalsports Women’s Race being my first 10km race.  I had so much fun that I decided to keep the habit, graduating to doing half marathons, full marathons, ultra marathons and before I knew it, the Comrades Marathon.   The vibe is amazing with dancers, music, entertainment and prizes at the finish. There is so much fun around you at all times, you don’t realise that you are exercising”.

“It’s an honour to be an ambassador of the Totalsports Women’s Race,” continues Gule.  “After seeing the positive impact that running has had in my life, I made it my business to encourage women to live a healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly and eating healthy. My mission is to inspire women to look at exercise as a necessity, not a hobby.  By exercising we are investing in our health and happy homes.  I recommend the Totalsports Women’s Race because it is fun and ideal for both beginners and experienced runners.  By taking part, runners will get to support a worthy cause – PinkDrive.  I can’t wait to see the sea of pink as women run all three cities”.

“Through the Totalsports ‘Women Run This City’ movement we have acknowledged that female athletes can no longer be ignored,” says Charmaine Claasens, Head Of Marketing Totalsports.  “This race is a nod of recognition to all women out there balancing their lives and inspiring female empowerment.  We are committed to inspire women through sports and have teamed up with the Pink Drive to raise awareness and education around breast cancer”.
