The organisers of the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN 3-Day Stage Race that will take place in the Western Cape in March 2022 are inviting all Gauteng based trail runners to be part of the action by signing up for the fun-filled THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN Training Run #3 that will take place at Prime View in Midrand on Saturday, 12 February.
Launched in 2009, the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN 3-Day Stage Race is synonymous with magnificent trails, spectacular views, mouth-watering food, a relaxed atmosphere, great vibe and most importantly, teamwork!
“We are excited to give Gauteng based trail runners the opportunity to experience the action of the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN. “The THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN Training Run #3 will see trail runners enjoying the outdoors in Central Gauteng. The route will consist of a nice mixture of single and jeep track. The trails are well-marked and in a trail park, making them very safe.”
“The training run is free of charge and open to all sporting enthusiasts that would like to get to know more about the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN,” continues Meyer. “AFRICANX ambassadors, Nonhlakanipho Tau, Franza Landman and Nico Sterk will also join in on the fun on Saturday. These ambassadors are always keen to share their experience with event newcomers so be sure to ask them a lot of questions. Teams of two trail running enthusiasts (male/female/mixed) will be seen battling it out on a route varying in distances each day. Each stage will feature a different route that is guaranteed to keep things challenging, yet exciting while leaving runners in awe.

DRESS UP DAY: One of the many highlights of the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN 3-Day Stage Race is “Dress Up Day” which will be celebrated on the third and final stage, on Monday 21 March. The rule is very simple, both runners need to wear their outfits for the duration of the stage, from start to finish. There are awesome sponsor prizes up for grabs as well as bragging rights for a year.
