#RunYourCity at the 2022 Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series in Cape Town, Durban and Joburg!

The organisers of the iconic Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series are excited to announce that South Africa’s award winning road running series is now a 10km series only and will boast three exhilarating races in three cities in 2022: the Absa RUN YOUR CITY CAPE TOWN 10K (Sunday 15 May), Absa RUN YOUR CITY DURBAN 10K (Sunday 10 July) and Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K (Saturday 24 September).

“We are thrilled to announce that the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series has evolved into a 10km series that will be hosted in three cities in 2022,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series. “We had a very successful 2021 with Absa signing as the Title Sponsor of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series. Together with their support and other key sponsors such as PUMA and DHL, to mention just a few, we hosted two fantastic events in Durban and Cape Town amidst very strict Covid-19 regulations. This paved the way for what we have planned in 2022.”

“Celebrated nationally, the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series is a diverse road running series that brings together avid runners, walkers and individuals looking to live healthier lifestyles, all lining up with some of Africa’s greatest distance runners, while promising world class achievement and fun for all participants,” continues Meyer. “This year we are excited to once again take the action to the streets of the three major cities. The events will now be known as the Absa RUN YOUR CITY CAPE TOWN 10K, Absa RUN YOUR CITY DURBAN 10K and Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K. Although emphasis will be placed on hosting a mass participation road race that highlights city landmarks, includes magnificent views and  features lively performances from some of the host city’s leading performing arts groups, all three events will also boast an exciting Contender Programme aimed at the racing snakes. To qualify for prize money, entrants will need to apply to be part of the Contendar Category. We can’t wait to welcome thousands of runners from across South Africa as well as elite athletes from around the world hoping to break 10km records on African soil, to the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series.”

Entries for the Absa RUN YOUR CITY CAPE TOWN 10K will open on Tuesday 01 February, while entries for the Absa RUN YOUR CITY DURBAN 10K will open on Tuesday 08 March and Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K entries will open on Tuesday 05 April.
