North West Province – The 8th annual Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run that will take place at the ATKV Buffelspoort on Sunday 29 August 2021 has attracted the attention of Charne Bosman, the 2016 Comrades Marathon Champion and 2021 THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN Champion (in the mixed team category).
“Claiming gold at the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN in March this year was one of my running career-highlights,” confirms Bosman, who belongs to the Murray & Roberts Running Club. “It was so much more than what I expected. The event made me realise just how different trail running is to road running. I got to see places that I would never get to see if it wasn’t for the event. I just love where each route took us. With trail running you’re treated to amazing scenery and feel so close to nature.”
“Running trail definitely benefits my road running,” continues Bosman. “I feel so much stronger on the road now. After AFRICANX I had to enter the Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run. One of the biggest reasons is that both events are organized by Stillwater Sports and after what I experienced at AFRICANX, the Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run is guaranteed to be another great event that I don’t want to miss out on. I will definitely take a competitive approach to the event and am really looking forward to seeing where the route will take us.”
