Entries are open for the Western Cape’s most exciting open water swim, the Sanlam Cape Mile. Returning to the Eikenhof Dam at the picturesque Grabouw Country Club on Sunday, 07 February 2016 entrants can choose between an exhilarating 1 mile (1.6km) and a refreshing 500m swim.
“The Sanlam Cape Mile was tremendously well received in its maiden year,” says Michael Mayer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports. “With just over 1000 entrants in 2015 and an exciting sprint finish between Elite entrants Danie Marais and Myles Brown, the inaugural event could not have ended on a higher note.
We look forward to building on this excitement and invite swimmers to come enjoy a memorable experience that is sure to be rivaled by no other.”
“It was fantastic to see so many participants taking on the challenge alongside some of the country’s leading swimmers in the Cape Mile last year. It was also heart-warming to see the huge number of spectators, family and friends who came along to support their loved ones” says Johan van der Merwe, CEO: Sanlam Investments. “I have no doubt that with our Sanlam sponsorship we can grow the Sanlam Cape Mile into one of SA’s premier open-water swims.”
