Durban – The countdown to the 2015 Totalsports Women’s Race has begun. Thousands of women will converge on the Berea Rovers Sports Club (Durban) this coming Sunday, 19 July 2015 to show their support of PinkDrive by “RunningTheirCity”.
East Coast Radio representative, Jane Linley-Thomas, is looking forward to cheering for runners and walkers as they pass through the Fedhealth Fan Zone. “I love that the Totalsports Women’s Race supports PinkDrive,” says Linley-Thomas. “I adore showing support and love for the ladies who have so many titles to live up to: wife, working mom, daughter and sister. PinkDrive does amazing work. Having lost my mother-in-law to cancer, I have a huge appreciation for the role that they play in today’s society. I am looking forward to experiencing the Totalsports Women’s Race vibe and energy, athletes coming alive in unity. Look out for me on the side of the road in the Fedhealth Fan Zone, cheering my little red heart out”.
Additional fun activations to look out for will include the Totalsports Rainbow Mile and the PUMA Party Mile. Both the 5km and 10km routes are spectator friendly and runners can look forward to sterling performances by a number of bands, including a steel drum band, a marimba band and a brass band.
Top runners to look out for will include Jenna Challenor, Lebo Phalula, Lebogang Phalula, Rutendo Nyahora and Yolande Maclean.
