Stellenbosch – Acclaimed KFM personality, DJ Twala Ng’ambi will join in on the Women’s Day Celebrations in Stellenbosch on Monday, 10 August 2015 by cheering for thousands of runners and walkers as they “Run Their City” at the much anticipated Totalsports Women’s Race that will start in Plein Street at 08:00.

Taking place the day after National Women’s Day, the Totalsports Women’s Race supports PinkDrive, a Non-Profit Company (NPC) that is committed to improving breast cancer awareness, education, and providing and offering services to women across South Africa.

A self-proclaimed ‘reformed’ tomboy with a passion for radio and a heart for people, Twala is the quintessential girl next door, who’s currently living out her childhood dream.  “To quote Maya Angelou, ‘I am a feminist.  I’ve been female for a long time now.  I’d be stupid not to be on my own side, ’” says Ng’ambi.  “As someone that has lost a loved one to cancer, I commend PinkDrive for all their hard work.  Events like these help raise awareness and by doing so empower us as women.  I will be cheering for runners on route as they pass through the Fedhealth Fan Zone.  The wonderful thing about a race like the Totalsports Women’s Race is that it brings together people from all walks of life.  I am looking forward to seeing some familiar faces as well as making some new friends”.
