Global Running Day is on Wednesday 02 June and the Run Your City (RYC) Series is giving runners the perfect opportunity to celebrate with the launch of the RYC Series Global Running Day 5K challenge on Strava!
“We are excited to give the RYC Series Community the opportunity to celebrate Global Running Day ‘virtually’ with thousands of runners,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and founder of the RYC Series. “To be part of the challenge, runners must join the RYC Series Running Club on Strava and click on the orange “I’m in” button displayed next to the Global Running Day 5K event listing. It’s as easy as that.”
“Entrants can complete a 5K run anywhere and anytime between 05:00 – 23:00 on Wednesday 02 June,” continues Meyer. “The run needs to be recorded using a smartphone (Android or iPhone device) or smart watch (Garmin, TomTom, SUUNTO, Fitbit, Polar etc). To stand a chance to win a pair of PUMA NITRO running shoes to the value of R4000, entrants must share their activities, routes and photos to the RYC Series Running Club on Strava by no later than 23:00 on Wednesday. Include the following three hashtags #RunYourCity, #RUNPUMA and #GlobalRunningDay. We can’t wait to celebrate Global Running Day with the RYC Series Community.”
