“Let Nature Give You A Run For Your Money”
Trail runners taking part in the 8th annual AfricanX Trailrun presented by ASICS the weekend of 11 – 13 March 2016 will stand a chance to win a coveted entry into the ASICS Beat The Sun Challenge.
Taking place from sunrise to sunset on the longest day of the year (Tuesday, 21 June 2016) in Chamonix (France), the ASICS Beat The Sun Challenge is a 148km relay race around Mont Blanc.
According to Dawid Visser, ASICS Promotions and Training Specialist, the race is not only against other teams, but also against nature. “Teams will consist of three amateur runners and three professional runners. Each team member can look forward to experiencing the iconic mountain that is Mont Blanc, while being pampered and kitted out by ASICS. One amateur AfricanX runner will be selected as part of the ASICS Beat The Sun Team.”
“The AfricanX is the ideal event for us to make this selection at as the runners already have the passion for trail running,” continues Visser. “AfricanX is nature’s toughest event in South Africa so it just makes sense to partner it with a global challenge on one of the toughest courses in Europe. We will provisionally select ten people before choosing the final amateur runner from that group. We are also setting out 2nd and 3rd place prizes to make the competition even more attractive.”
