Finally the moment that all 2013 FNB Wines2Whales (W2W) Mountain Bike (MTB) riders have been waiting for, the spectacular Amphi Bike Park at Paul Cluver will officially open its doors to the public on Saturday, 15 February 2014.
Just under 700 multi-sport athletes gathered at Gordon’s Bay Beach Front on Saturday, 11 January 2014 to partake in the action of the 12th annual Totalsports Challenge presented by Liberty Medical Scheme and REHIDRAT® SPORT. Hugo reclaimed the Totalsports Challenge Champion title completing the 7-disciplined event, which is a combined distance of 123.5km of racing, in an impressive time of 07hours06minutes53seconds.
Erik Kleinhans (RECM) and Hanlie Booyens claimed victory at the 2014 ISUZU Ride The Rock Mountain Bike (MTB) Race completing this much talked about 196km three day stage race in the majestic Cederberg Region in a combined time of 08hours21minutes24seconds and 10hours52minutes52seconds respectively.
“I put in a big effort on the first day, digging deep within myself. So on Stage Two and Stage Three I just needed to ride conservatively,” said Kleinhans. “Stage Three was scenic, not technical, but still a little challenging. Frantisek Rabon helped me on the climb about 8km from the finished and was rewarded with a Stage Three win. The last two years I’ve always been in good shape at this event, but both times have been disappointed by mechanicals”.
The Swiss and Bermudan flags were flying high on Saturday, 08 February 2014 with Konny Looser and Flora Duffy crossing the finish line first in their respective categories after Stage Two of the action packed ISUZU Ride The Rock Mountain Bike (MTB) Race.
Erik Kleinhans of Team RE∙CM set a steady pace during Stage One of the much anticipated ISUZU Ride The Rock MTB Race that started in the majestic Cederberg Region on Friday, 07 February 2014.
Known as the Endurance Stage, Stage One saw riders having to complete a tough 81km route that boasts a 1600m vertical ascent.

Entries are officially open for the second annual FNB Platinum Trail Run presented by ISUZU. Taking place at ATKV Buffelspoort (North West Province) on Sunday, 25 May 2014 participants can choose between a 24km, 12km and 8km route.
According to Alexa Cunningham, Event Manager, participants can look forward to two days of spectacular mountain biking in and around Stellenbosch. “In addition to experiencing spectacular mountain bike routes, riders can also look forward to a weekend of wine and craft beer tasting in the Winelands. Fantastic lucky draw prizes will be on offer, while the Fedhealth Zone will boast with the best massage therapists, physiotherapists and bioresonance therapists from around South Africa. There will also be a bike wash and service area after each stage of riding, while warm showers will give riders the opportunity to freshen up before enjoying a fully catered for scrumptious lunch,” says Cunningham.
The action packed New Balance Trail Run presented by ISUZU heads to Grabouw on Saturday, 22 February 2014, participants can choose between two exciting routes.
The New Balance Trail Run presented by ISUZU incorporates the trail run routes of the Totalsports XTERRA Grabouw presented by REHIDRAT SPORT.
Just over 400 trail running enthusiast toed the line at Buffelspoort Dam on Sunday, 26 January 2014 to partake in the 2014 New Balance Trail Run presented by ISUZU.
Edwin Sesipi was the runner to look out for in the men’s 12km race. Sesipi crossed the finish line first in a lightning fast time of 50minutes19seconds. According to Sesipi this is his first trail run. “I come from a track and field background. After today’s race I can say that I really enjoy trail running. The course was nice, but tough. I only have speed where Ruan is a very strong runner. This is my first event of 2014 and I am very happy with the win. I’ll definitely be back next year,” said Sesipi. Ruan Meintjies came in second, while Stewart Chaperon finished third.
